Aftermath of the Lowdown has hit US download

Today the US got Richie Sambora's download of his latest solo album Aftermath of the Lowdown. This long awaited album has had great reviews.

Richie took the time to spend about two hours on twitter answering followers and fans questions. It was an awesome experience. For me I left for one hour and had to turn my mobile notification off. When I returned there were over 300 tweets on my computer and those were just Richie tweets and followers tweeting about Richie's tweets or hoping to get an answer from him. It was amazing and great to see.

After a few promo spots on Good Morning America 9-20-2012 and Live! With Kelly and Michael 9-21-2012 Richie will head back to California and Vegas from New York City to hook up with his Jovi band members for iHeart radio show Saturday. 9-22-2012 Bon Jovi and Aerosmith on the stage the same night it is going to be a pretty wild show. You can listen to the performances on iheartradio.com/vegas or from what I am told Yahoo music (At the time of this Blog post I have not checked the Yahoo music information out.)

The well my friends it's tour time. Richie has put aside two months to tour his Solo Album. He is putting up the dates as soon as they are available to him. I know we all are getting a bit antsy as some of us will be traveling a distance to be able to see Richie live and on stage.

On tweet I saw today was a welth of information. The tweeter asked Richie how long he would be on stage for his solo shows. His answer was "Till I ain't got nothing left!!" This is going to be a show to remember. If you can get a ticket it's something Richie Sambora fans will not want to miss. I have talked to people who are pawning some of their stuff to get a ticket. That says a lot about our boy Richie.

Richie Sambora LA Times article. Nice read new questions

For Richie Sambora, a hard-won road to 'Aftermath of the Lowdown'

The latest solo album from Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, 'Aftermath of the Lowdown,' honestly tackles the guitarist's recent rough times.

Richie Sambora
Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora has an new solo album out.
(Ricardo DeAratanha / Los Angeles Times)

The lowest moment of Richie Sambora's life was the night in 2008 when he was arrested for DUI with his then-10-year-old daughter Ava in the car.

Only a year after the Bon Jovi guitarist had left rehab for alcohol and pill abuse, he was pulled over in Laguna Beach after police saw him weaving on the highway in his Hummer. They booked and released him, and the Laguna Beach police described him as "quiet and cooperative and he didn't cause any problems."
The arrest capped a brutal year of personal trials: his divorce to actress Heather Locklear was finalized, his new relationship with Denise Richards faltered and his father died of lung cancer.

Most famous musicians would go out of their way to hide a night like that, or at least couch it in some traditional narrative of redemption on record. But on Sambora's new, unexpectedly bloodletting third solo album, "Aftermath of the Lowdown," he tackles that time in his life with plain-spoken, unsentimental rock music that doesn't whitewash or over-dramatize his failings.

"When I fell off that cliff, I realized who I was, unrelated to the band," Sambora said while on a sofa in the Palihouse lounge in West Hollywood. "I'd started to clean up five years ago, but I slipped, and made those amends. I'm lucky I wasn't a guy who lost his family or relationships."

It's a hard-won record from a very famous guitarist, one now recording for a scrappier, independent label — Silver Lake's Dangerbird Records. Their pairing is exceedingly unlikely, but "Lowdown" could show both parties in a new light: Sambora, the ferocious instrumentalist and tough-skinned songwriter, and a Dangerbird Records unafraid to follow its instincts all the way to the doorstep of '80s arena rock.

The first question about "Lowdown" — a collaboration that both Sambora and Dangerbird admit was unexpected — is how the two parties ever crossed paths at all. Dangerbird's Jeff Castelaz, better known for signing the shoe-gazey snarl of Silversun Pickups and the cosmopolitan soul of Fitz & the Tantrums, first heard about the record through Phil Cassens, a mutual friend and fellow cyclist who used to helm A&R at Virgin Records.

Though Sambora actually had a history well before Bon Jovi — he played the CBGB circuit and an earlier band, the Message, was signed to Led Zeppelin's Swan Song imprint — Castelaz acknowledges that a personal connection was probably necessary to deflect his natural skepticism about the album.

"Phil told me about his friend Richie who had a fantastic record, and that he hoped we'd have some common ground," Castelaz said. "But growing up, I was a janitor and swept garbage at an arena where Bon Jovi played. They were a rock 'n' roll hit machine, and my generation railed against those guys."

But slowly, the recordings started to win him over. And though much of Dangerbird's cool-kid audience will run screaming for the fire exits at the thought of buying an album from a Bon Jovi side project, it's easy to hear what turned Castelaz into a believer. "Burn that Candle Down" kicks off with a psychedelic fuzz barrage that the Black Keys would be happy to call their own. If the piano-plaintive yearn of "Every Road Leads Home to You" got misfiled under Coldplay or Arcade Fire, radio programmers would salivate to play it.

"This is nothing like Bon Jovi," Castelaz said. "They make quality rock music, but this is vulnerable and real about his travails. When he first played 'Every Road Leads Home to You,' it blew my … mind."
The album's not a contempo-indie rip-off, though — bluesy swaggers like "Sugar Daddy" and power-pop such as "Nowadays" definitely bear Bon Jovi DNA. Sambora's in-studio band comes with a rock pedigree: Members of Paul McCartney and Beck's bands played all over it.

Some song titles like "Learning to Fly With a Broken Wing" and "Taking a Chance on the Wind" are almost defiantly un-self-aware of their author's stadium-rock heritage. But one pass through Sambora's dark-night-of-the-soul ballad "You Can Only Get So High" shows a rare skill among today's self-conscious songwriters — singing about one's mistakes without glamorizing or wallowing in them.

Gossip rags have detailed Sambora's DUI, his divorce and his rehab stint after slipping in his Jacuzzi and succumbing to painkiller addiction for his shoulder injury. But when he sings "Empty bottle, preach the gospel / another shot ain't coming close to saving me," over a classic-country slide guitar, it's a reminder that those things happened to a real person, one with a story a lot of regular fans can relate to.

"I had cleaned up my act about 85% five years ago," Sambora said. "But I was naive. I just wanted to drink as a stress reliever, and I slipped again. When I write, I'm speaking about me, but I'm sure that's a lot of people's [problem] as well."

"Lowdown's" abject sincerity — from a guy who has every right to go on hot-tub autopilot at this point in his career — is a big part of its re-inventive, trends-be-damned sincerity.

Sambora's still committed to Bon Jovi, a day job that he describes as a "mothership — you just get on and it goes." But after the band wrapped up its 2011 arena tour and is currently between album cycles, it's clear that "Lowdown" is his passion project and he can't wait to play it out live. After a few of the worst years of his life, Sambora feels like "Lowdown" is a song of experience — and innocence as well.

"I'm still learning; I still have a guitar teacher and a vocal teacher," Sambora said. "I've tried to maintain my innocence as a musician and be able to tell my story, and I'm realizing it's kinda everyone's story."

Richie Sambora talks with Rolling Stone on new Solo Album

Q&A: Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora on New Solo Album: 'My Stuff Is Pretty Universal'

Guitarist says 'Aftermath of the Lowdown' focuses on personal freedom

Richie Sambora performs with Jon Bon Jovi.

As the founding guitar-slinger in Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora has done everything he can to live up to his job description. He's shredded solos in stadiums across the planet, married and divorced a famous actress (Heather Locklear), been to rehab and experienced all the excesses, pitfalls and perks of international superstardom. As the song goes, he's seen a million faces and he's rocked them all.

However, Sambora is sometimes portrayed as the Robin to Jon Bon Jovi's Batman, the Watson to Jon's Sherlock. Now that Bon Jovi has some downtime between album and tour cycles, Sambora is stepping into his own well-deserved spotlight with his third solo album, Aftermath of the Lowdown, out September 18th. For the first time in his 30-year career, Sambora signed with an independent label, Dangerbird, instead of sticking with the majors (Bon Jovi has stayed with Universal Music Group, home of Sambora's previous solo albums).

Sambora chatted with Rolling Stone about his master plan for his new album and asserting his independence while staying fully aligned with his legendary main band.

Aftermath is a totally different animal than your previous solo albums.
I'm very, very happy with this record. When you're making a record, you try to achieve stylistically what fits on you. Like a good old coat, you know what I mean? With this record, I've achieved that. I feel really very good. The reason I called it Aftermath of the Lowdown is because when you give somebody the lowdown, that's the truth. And when you tell somebody the truth, there's an aftermath to it. So the songs are the aftermath of my particular story, of my life experience over the past decade.

Bon Jovi recently came back from an incredible, extremely successful world tour.  You were selling out stadiums around the globe. At what point did you start getting material together that was specifically for a solo album?
I really didn't start writing until the tour was over. We did a mammoth 18-and-a-half month tour, 52 countries. The first 12 months was named the biggest tour on the planet; that was pretty amazing. Actually, you know, I got home, I took a 10-day vacation with my daughter, and I came back to my house and I was extremely energized and I knew that was going to be my window. So right then and there, I started. I didn't know what was going to happen. I just said, "You know what, I'm going to start writing some songs and see what happens." Once I started writing, I really liked the material and it was authentic, passionate and honest. And that's what makes a really good record. So there was a bit of magic happening right off the bat. Building the foundation of this record, obviously, was the writing process.

The lyrics are very heartfelt. You have, "Every heartache's a blessing/ Every knockdown was a start." I know you touched upon this with the album title, but did you intentionally set out to make a record that was so intensely personal?
What I found, interestingly enough, through the ups and downs of my life over the past decade since I made my other solo record, and all the stuff that I've gone through in my life over the past decade – this record is basically about my stuff. And what I really found out is that my stuff is pretty universal. The stuff that I've gone through isn't that alien. The stuff that I've gone through, anybody can go through in their lives and they probably will. Ups and downs and things like that. So I really felt like everybody can relate to these lyrics and make them their own. At the end of it, when I looked back on it, that's really what I've found.

You're exactly right except, perhaps, for "Seven Years Gone" because of the specific number of years. That one's about your ex-wife?
About seven years ago, life for me started to take kind of a little bit of a dip. I was getting divorced, my father was dying of cancer at that point in time, so things were definitely at a transformative period in my life. And then all of the sudden, I looked up, when I started writing this record, and I said, "Wow! Seven years gone!" It really went by very quickly. I started to think about the transference of time. My God, it's like, all of the sudden, I've been in this business for 30 years now and all the amazing stuff that's happened to me. So I guess it was kind of a reflection on all that kind of stuff, and I think anybody can relate to that.

You know what else I found during the making of the record? Pain and struggle are necessary, and challenging situations like that are necessary, for you to actually find your freedom and move on. The essential message of this record is freedom. A song like "Taking a Chance on the Wind" – about "Raising my flag/ And taking my chance on the wind" – it's all about risk. But, it's like, people ask me, "Why'd you make this record, Richie? Wasn't it a risk to make such a record?" And I say, "It would've been a risk not to make this record." I had to get this stuff out. It was a cathartic thing for me to do this album. And also, just to express my individuality away from the band.

I think that's probably why I went with an independent record company. That's why I went with Dangerbird. All this about "raising my flag" – independence. That's what I wanted, you know? I wanted independence from stuff that I knew before.

When I first heard some of these songs, they sounded like they came out of jams. There's this freshness and immediacy to it that feels like a bunch of guys in the studio playing from their hearts.
Thank you. That's what it was. At the end of the day, I was trying to capture my independence through this music. I love being in Bon Jovi and I'm going to obviously continue with that band and it's going to be fun. But when you can actually break free as an individual and have the great opportunity to go in and make a record like this, where, like you said, a guy like me... I don't really care about the press.  I don't mean to sound like an asshole but I don't care about the press. What I do care about is having an artistic opportunity like this.

It's a classic rock album in a sense. There's metal, there's rock, there's blues – the elements. It's a timeless kind of music. But I know you have a teenage daughter. Does she keep you updated with new music and new styles like, for instance, electronic stuff?
Ah, bro, check it out. This new record also definitely sounds modern. The guys that I play with are younger than me; I made sure of that. So we added very much of a younger flavor and my voice actually sounds younger than I am.

My daughter is an essential part of my listening process; she turns me onto stuff all the time. We went to Coachella this year together. I stayed for the whole three days and saw everybody. It was a blast. And to be honest with you, I had never really experienced this electronica stuff before. I really took a shining to this kid Madeon who's a DJ but he adds music and he really plays to the crowd. I thought he was really brilliant. I got a chance to talk to him afterwards.

But I'm the kind of guy [where] I buy two or three new records per week. I spend a lot of time on the treadmill staying in shape these days, so I like to listen to new records when I'm on the treadmill. And also I got a lot of friends that send me their Spotify playlists. The other musicians in my band and my producer, who did a stunning job on this record, is always giving me stuff to listen to. Always inspires me. Anything that's out new I like to pick up and listen to and then I've got my classic diet of old blues that I bring out of the closet too, you know?

This is a solo project, not a side project. You get to assume the role of dictator. In Bon Jovi, does Jon assume the dictator role or is it a democratic process that you all get to participate in?
At the end of the day, Jon has to be out there; he has to be the mouthpiece. So I mean, even from a writing standpoint, essentially, I'm really writing for Jon to actually sing those lyrics. But luckily, we grew up five miles away from each other, a couple years apart, in the same place, the same kind of blue-collar work ethic of New Jersey and stuff like that. We have a lot of common ground, so it's quite easy. But obviously when I'm making a record like this, like you said, the words for me are uncensored because I get a chance to tell my story here.

And also I think what was important to me as I'm growing up – because I always think I'm growing up and I still think of myself as a kid – [is that] I hope I'm going to be able to change people's perspective as to who I am. As a lead vocalist, as an artist in his own right, away from the band. Because I think that my music also has merit and I think that it has a lot to offer people.

I've had a very, very interesting view of the planet over the last 30 years, touring as excessively as I have. And music is the most evocative, transformative, connective force in humanity, man. I've seen it firsthand. I've seen it all over the world, how it connects people. I'm hoping that my music can be a part of that whole energy.

One last question, something I just have to ask: Alec John Such left Bon Jovi in 1994. Hugh McDonald has handled bass duties since then, but he's rarely in any of the official photos nor is he listed as an official member. Eighteen years into it, is he finally part of the brotherhood?
He's exactly where he is right now. It's exactly where he came in, but he's obviously a treasured piece of what the band is. I think that Jon just wants to keep the integrity of the five guys that started this unit and that's what it is.

Richie Sambora's Hair

Bet you are wondering if this is another post by someone complaining about Richie Sambora's hair color. Nope not me. I just wanted to let you all know I am NOT publishing on this more than what I am saying here..
Don't want any more drama on the boards and twitter and my email and phone calls and text. His hair could be shocking pink for all I care. Love his music. Love his style. Love his openness on twitter. Love him. (in the general terms).

Right now I want to start trending #AftermathoftheLowdownTour

The Macy's post has been taken down

Nikki asked that we all not post on the Macy's gig until all info is finalized. So until NikkiRich gives the green light we are taking all blog, FaceBook or any other social media outlets that posted info on Macy's down until given the go from Nikki or Richie directly. Sorry for the confusion. It took off like wildfire from a single tweet. Love those social networks.....

Last night at the West Virginia Greenbrier Golf Classic Bon Jovi Performed in front of a massive crowd. The heat of the day hit high digits. At one point after the band had their sound check Jon Bon Jovi had bought water for the crowd. He had also delayed the start of the performance from 8 p.m. (no warm up act) until 8:45 p.m. so let things cool off knowing full well that the lights and the people would raise the temperature. (For any of us who have ever been to a Jovi concert we know this is  very true!) From the tweets I experienced last night and the amount I am still going through this morning not to mention show video and my personal favorite the Richie Cam. (Check it out on You Tube.) I do know that Richie Sambora has seen it.

Bon Jovi slated to perform at iHeart Radio Music Festival

Deadmau5

There is going to be a way to listen live to the event which I am all over...

http://festival.iheart.com/go/iheartradio-music-festival/details.html#content

Sounds like a cool gig. My only question and it's HUGE!! How will this work with Richie's solo tour dates??? Guess he's gonna have to fly home or start the tour out of California....

Richie Sambora Photo Project

This is a very creative idea. For Richie's new song Every Road Leads Home To You he is asking for photos via Instgram. These photos are to be what YOU think the words mean and to hash tag the word and #RichieRoad in your tweet.
Help Richie Sambora create an Instagram photo-based video for the new song "Every Road Leads Home To You" from his upcoming album "Aftermath of the Lowdown." Before you hear the song, read the lyrics below and use Instagram to snap a photo of something in your world that represents the lyric.

Every Road Leads Home To You

I got your picture on my phone
Your voice in my head
And I’m lying here alone
Restless in some faraway bed

The stars are falling down
And I’m a half a world away
I’m just trying to close the distance
To feel each breath you take

When the bridge is burning,
and I’m losing my faith
And I’m trying to find my way towards the truth
Like a wild arrow flying
And I’m blindly running
From everything that I thought I knew
and every road leads home to you
home to you

So you got me to believe
Made me turn on a dime
The writing on the wall-
right in front me
Every song every rhyme

But I don’t need 1000 words
I need you safe in my arms
I’ll be standing strong-
I’ll keep holding on
When life tries tearing us apart

When the bridge is burning,
and I’m losing my faith
And I’m trying to find my way towards the truth
Like a wild arrow flying
And I’m blindly running
From everything I thought I knew

No I ain’t regretting
Just how lost I’m getting
Or the red lights I’ve been blowing through
My foot will find the pedal
as I’m counting the lines,
Every road leads home to you
Every road leads home to you

Home,
the road still leads me home to you
Sometimes I don’t see the signs,
The headlights make me blind
the road still leads me home
to you
When the bridge is burning,
and I’m losing my faith
And I’m trying to find my way towards the truth
Like a wild arrow flying
And I’m blindly running
From everything I thought I knew

No I ain’t regretting
Just how lost I’m getting
Or the red lights I’ve been blowing through
My foot will find the pedal
as I’m counting the lines,
Every road leads home to you
Every road leads home to you

Home to you
Home to you
Home to you

Richie Sambora Album Release Date September 4, 2012

We all know Richie's album Aftermath of the Lowdown is set to release September 4, 2012.
He recently performed at Sunset Sessions in Palm Springs at his Listening Party.
This provided Radio, Music Supervisors and other Radio people the chance to hear his music first.

The whole concept for Sunset Sessions is to get new acts to be heard before their stuff hits the radio stations. Now Richie is by far a "new act" but the chance for his music to be heard early was a great idea. Not to mention his jam session with Luke and Kevin that was just an added bonus which personally I wish I could have been there for. From the Sunset web site updates they were very happy with what Richie did as a performance and had said "The courtyard was packed for this intimate experience".

Also don't forget to sign up at/for Richie's website  www.richiesambora.com   That should be up and running soon. There is a great picture there and a place to subscribe with your email address.I believe that it is still under construction.

Time to start talking the album and tour up kids. A day shy of two months away.

I will be blogging updates as they come along.

Jon Bon Jovi teams up with Avon on a Fragrance Line

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Jon Bon Jovi is going Unplugged in a bottle.
Avon Products Inc. announced Monday that the 50-year-old rock star is the company's newest celebrity fragrance partner. He'll appear in ads for both Unplugged for Her and Unplugged for Him.
The company said the inspiration for both scents is the unique feeling one has listening to a favourite song. The goal is "an emotional connection."
The women's version, which will be available through Avon representatives and online in October, is a floral oriental perfume, and the men's is a woody floral musk fragrance. It will go on sale in November.
Both Avon and Bon Jovi said admiration for each other's involvement in philanthropy largely drew them together as partners.

Bon Jovi to rock annual Quebec City festival July 9

For Matt Bongiovi, keeper of JBJ Backstage and just about everything that is Bon Jovi when it comes to social networking, hell hath no fury like a rock band on hiatus that refuses to really enjoy downtime and take a load off.
Such is the case with his brother’s juggernaut of a nom de plume, Bon Jovi.
See, these guys are supposed to be kicking back and enjoying la vida buena; but what are they doing instead?
Running around like headless chickens working on solo projects here, a charity appearance there, a benefit show, a beachfront show, laying tracks for a new band record.

Talk about taking one for the team!
Matt’s never-ending nightmare is JoviNation’s round-the-clock obsession, and fans around the world are amped to hear that Bon Jovi (along with Aerosmith), will be headlining a full show at the Festival D’Ete De Quebec in Quebec City on July 9th.
Think Bamboozle on steroids, or the New Meadowlands shows to the tenth power; this band is gonna shake and quake and bring everything but the tsunami.
As reported on the band’s web site BonJovi.com, Bon Jovi will be performing at Festival D’Ete’ Quebec on the plains of Abraham in Quebec City for a full headlining set of all the hits on July 9th, 2012”.
What exactly are Abraham’s Plains and does he know Bon Jovi will be touching down there and ripping them up?
Once an enormous patch of grazing land back in the early 1700’s, the plains became site of the famous Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which took place on the very spot Bon Jovi will be performing in September, 1759.
Still confused?
Think of the French trying to throw the British out in similar manner as to how America was born, and you come close to what eventually became known as the Seven Years War was.
Today over 200 years later, the battlefield has been turned into a park visited annually by 4 million people for a variety of outdoor activities.
In its 45th year, the festival runs from July 5-15 and will include performances by Aerosmith, Johnny Hallyday, Metric, The Offspring, and LMFAO among many more.
Bon Jovi’s appearance marks the first time the band will visit Quebec City since 2001, and fans and festival organizers alike are certain to be mesmerized by an over-powering show bursting at the seams with all of their biggest hits.
“A master stroke –Bon Jovi!”, festival organizers said in a release. “The U.S. Ambassadors of Rock N’ Roll come to Quebec City at last for their only show in Canada. Their appearances here are rare”.
Voulez vous coucher Bon Jovi is gonna kick ass and take names?

Well, Ladies and gentlemen it seems like the powers that be feel the same way. Richie Sambora's music from Aftermath of the Lowdown has been pulled due to Copy Write Infringement. I am happy to report. People let the album hit the stores before circulating pirated copies! Yiesh! There is such a thing as making a buck. It's not cheap making and Indie record.

Big & Rich decided it was good enough for the cover of their new album.
A release date hasn’t been announced, but the album’s first single "That's Why I Pray" is climbing the charts.

Richie Sambora fans mount write-in campaign for "Billboard"s 'Sexiest Man'

Richie Sambora Examiner
Fans of Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora are a no-nonsense bunch.  They are fiercely loyal and protective of Jon Bon Jovi’s softer foil, who is undoubtedly the softer touch of the two despite his Mediterranean looks, root beer puppy eyes, and mischievous nature.
Mr. Bluesman has been there all these years for them, and now worldwide Richie fans are there for him, launching a write-in campaign for Billboard’s Sexiest Man and Woman in music voting.
This development fresh on the heels of Jon Bon Jovi being the only tried and true rock star to be a nominee on the list that includes Justin Bieber, Usher, and others.
It’s no surprise when it comes to bands in the music industry that the front-person always seems to get the accolades for good looks. For the Beatles it was Paul McCartney over John Lennon, the Rolling Stones Mick Jagger (before his face caved in) over perpetually embalmed Keith Richards, and U2’s magnetic Bono over The Edge.
Hell, Led Zeppelin even had Roger Plant vanquishing Jimmy Page in the looks department, and Roger Daltry was the unabashed sex object for The Who since time immemorial. So what’s different with all the fuss about voting for Richie Sambora for a sexiest award?
For starters, many die-hard Richie fans are sick and tired of Jon Bon Jovi getting all the accolades.
Whether it’s a an award for philanthropy or an AARP or People magazine ‘Sexiest’ award, Sambora fans are as smitten with the lanky guitar virtuoso as the media nominating committees are with Bon Jovi. In that regard, they view it as a consummate insult because in addition to his guitar playing, they are drawn to his looks.
It’s the classic cliché: one rocker of Light (Jon), and one of Darkness (Richie). He of the smoldering looks that on the surface imbue him with an accessible vulnerability that knocks the ladies dead where they stand; yet an intensity that burns so deeply that one gets the sense that ying and yang are in constant conflict over who gets to project the man and his music on his professional persona.
That’s why within minutes of social media sites Facebook and Twitter picking up news of Jon’s nomination, the effort to write-in Richie took off full swing:
@teripp tweeted: “…without making JBJ fans angry, there is write-in. I know there is a Richie campaign to get him on the chart as a write-in”.
Talk about “I’ll be there for you”!
@sashawasha added: “Campaigning to get @TheRealSambora added to the Sexiest Rock God thing! But love JBJ too!
Indeed, ask any female Sambora fan how they feel about Richie (outside of the 50 Shades of Fan Fiction), and they will tell you they just want to wrap their arms around him and protect him. Which is why right now, Richie Sambora fans all over the globe want you to go to the Billboard site and vote, before the results are revealed June 11.
Vote for Billboard's "Sexiest Man and Woman In Music" here.

An amazing Honor for Jon Bon Jovi to Ride Air Foce One

Bon Jovi hitches Air Force One ride to NYC fundraiser with Obama
By Olivier Knox | The Ticket – 4 hrs ago

Rocker Jon Bon Jovi hitched a ride aboard Air Force One on Monday, zipping up to New York City to perform at a gala fundraiser for President Barack Obama — one of three campaign events to scoop up cash for the Democrat's reelection.
The party, held at the luxury Waldorf Astoria hotel, will only have 500 faces, not a million. But Bon Jovi, a long-time supporter of Democratic presidential candidates, was sure to rock them all.
Obama, joined by former President Bill Clinton, first attended a small reception at a private residence, with 50 people putting up $40,000 each. The gala tickets started at $2,500 per person. The figures came from the president's reelection campaign via the pool reporter with Obama in New York.
And then Obama was to star at a Broadway concert at the New Amsterdam Theater for 1,700 people, a performance set to feature Nina Arianda, Kerry Butler, Norbet Leo Butz, Bobby Cannavale, Stockard Channing, Chuck Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, Meagn Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, James Earl Jones, Tony Kushner, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Hattienne Park, Mandy Patinkin, Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Wright. Tickets for that event opened at $250.(Unclear: Would Obama try to corner Patinkin for hints on the plot twists in the upcoming season of the drama "Homeland," which the president has repeatedly described as one of his favorite shows?)

Presidents Clinton and Obama to attend JBJ concert

Clinton and Obama hit up the Big Apple

(CNN) – Former President Bill Clinton is lending some fund-raising help to President Barack Obama on Monday, in the form of three events in New York.
They are scheduled to attend a reception at a private residence with approximately 50 people who each paid $40,000, according to a campaign official.

A gala at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel will follow, featuring a performance by musician Jon Bon Jovi. Tickets started $2,500 for the 500 guests.
Obama will then deliver remarks at a concert at The New Amsterdam Theater enjoyed by 1,700 people. Nina Arianda, Kerry Butler, Norbet Leo Butz, Bobby Cannavale, Stockard Channing, Chuck Cooper, Neil Patrick Harris, Meagn Hilty, Cheyenne Jackson, James Earl Jones, Tony Kushner, Angela Lansbury, Patti LuPone, Audra McDonald, Hattienne Park, Mandy Patinkin, Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Wright are slated to perform. Tickets for the event started at $250 per person.
Three contest winners and their guests will also be in attendance at the gala and concert and will have an opportunity to meet privately with Obama and Clinton at the gala.
Proceeds from Monday's events will benefit the Obama Victory fund, a joint fundraising committee of Obama for America, the Democratic National Committee and several state Democratic parties.
– CNN Political Editor Paul Steinhauser contributed to this report.

Richie Sambora mixing final song on new album

If Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was worn to the bone by the band’s last tour, he sure isn’t showing it.  After a short rest following nearly 18 months on the road in a grueling tour, Mr. Bluesman has been back in the studio working on a solo record, his third.
Just today the tireless foil for Jon Bon Jovi tweeted that he is in the studio mixing tracks for the final song on the record.
Earlier this month  Rolling Stone magazine reported  Sambora’s first disc in 14 years will simply be titled, Richie Sambora.  It is due out this summer, and like the previous releases before it will work to establish the fun-loving guitarist as an entity apart from his side-kick identity with that other band with…what’s his name?

Bon Jovi.
Carnival roadie or workaholic, Sambora seemingly knows he can’t keep what he has unless he gives it away.  Thus, he has immersed himself once again into the creative process, rather than remain idle.  After all, idle time is indeed the Devil’s time.
An independent soul himself,  the new CD will be released on Dangerbird Records, an indie label that provides the brown-eyed guitarist space to stretch his wings and let his licks fly without having to worry about music for the sake of commercialism.
The guitarist told Rolling Stone that there is a lot of “jamming” on the new work, and “…we really had a good time making the music.  I think that’s what attracted me to the whole indie (label) thing: I could make the music the way I wanted”, he said.
Following the release there have been rumors about a possible solo tour; however, Sambora and musical soul-mate Jon Bon Jovi have been back in the studio already putting down tracks for a new Bon Jovi release, possibly slated for late 2012 to early 2013.
He told Rolling Stone of the effort, “We’re in the studio and it sounds great”, he said. “Jon (Bon Jovi) and I were writing.  I’d fly to New York and we came up with a lot of great tracks and we started laying down the basics a couple weeks back”.
For Richie Sambora fans, the news couldn’t be better: double-doses of the puppy-eyed rocker.  In the meantime, they’ll just have to settle for twitter updates from @theRealSambora and the photos he so freely shares with the fans he loves.
