 Vacation in Paradise

MailOnline Tuesday, Mar 27 2012 Giving it another go: Denise Richards appears to have rekindled her romance with Richie Sambora as she joins him in Hawaii By Jade Watkins

They had everyone guessing about the status of their relationship after enjoying a romantic dinner in West Hollywood last month. But a trip to Hawaii suggests that former lovers Denise Richards and Richie Sambora are more than just friends. The 41-year-old ex-wife of Charlie Sheen and her daughters Sam, Lola and baby Eloise, was spotted on the sands of Maui with the 52-year-old Bon Jovi rocker over the weekend. Rekindled romance? Sambora stayed close to his former flame, strolling alongside her in a pair of board shorts and sleeveless red T-shirt. Denise was seen earlier in the day, arriving on the island and strolling around with her two elder girls Sam and Lola.

'Easter vacation officially started...hope everybody's havin at least a mental vacation,' he wrote on his Twitter page on Saturday, followed by 'Morning....Sunday breakfast in paradise..thank god for today...' on Sunday. Meanwhile Denise has also been informing her friends and fans about her relaxing time away. 'We arrived in paradise!! So happy to have some R&R with the family,' she wrote on Sunday. First inklings that Denise and her former beau were getting back together, came after the pair enjoyed a cosy night of sushi in Woodland Hills back in November. A source told Radar Online that the former lovers were definitely back on. 'They are dating again,' the insider said. 'It is serious but they are trying to keep it low key.' Happy: Denise tweeted her happiness about the family vacation Happy: Denise tweeted her happiness about the family vacation During their date, the couple - who were wearing his 'n' hers leather jackets - were seen enjoying some alone time. 'They were there over an hour and they had the whole place to themselves for the last half hour,' the source said. The couple then went for a stroll down the street, and as they passed a tattoo parlor, Richie made a joke to a giggling Denise. Thrilled: Sambora was clearly equally thrilled about his 'early Easter vacation' with Denise and her girls Thrilled: Sambora was clearly equally thrilled about his 'early Easter vacation' with Denise and her girls 'What do ya think, should I get one?' he said. Following that outing, the couple weren't spotted until this February, when they stepped out for dinner at Fig and Olive on La Cienega Boulevard. Denise and Richie were first in a relationship in 2006. The started dating after both going through divorces with their spouses. Denise had split with her husband of just under four years Sheen, and Richie ended his 11-year marriage to Melrose Place star Heather Locklear. Heather, who once counted Denise as a close friend, was furious at the timing of their union. For her part, Denise insisted her relationship with Sambora was nothing but platonic until after Heather filed for divorce But Denise and Sambora ended their relationship in 2007 to focus on their respective families. At the start of this year, Denise also enjoyed an amicable holiday with ex-husband Sheen in Mexico.

Jon Bon Jovi appeared on Oprah's Master Class Series on the OWN network on March 25, 2012 to share some of the life lessons he has learned over the years that have helped him become the man he is today.

After nearly 30-years in the music business the now 50-year old Bon Jovi frontman is making no immediate plans to slow his roll anytime soon.

Just listening to Jon Bon Jovi speak, you get a real sense of who this man really is, and what he is all about. He is an open, and honest, cut to the chase kind of guy, which is part of his charm, that along with that smile that melts female fans across the world hearts with just a glance.

Jon Bon Jovi is far deeper than most who have never met him would expect from a rock star, but once you look past all the bright lights, and the glitz of the stage, you will find a man who is intelligent, loving, caring, and committed to much more than just singing onstage.

Jon revealed that at 50-years old, he has no regrets at all about all the hard work, business decisions, good, or bad that he has made along the way. They have all been a part of what has made Bon Jovi as strong as they are today.

Describing how the 1980s Bon Jovi band had to over come some tough obstacles, especially when the fame, success, and money came about so rapidly for the young men.

They all had to work through some major issues, that they had with theirselves and each other.

With faith in each other, and the common goal in hand, they pulled out of some dark areas pushing on successfully through the decades, and landing in a place in their lives where they are all together, happy, and content.

Jon explained that his relationships with Richie Sambora, David Bryon and Tico Torres is much deeper and complicated than just a job. They are a band of brothers who love, and respect each other like family.

They have seen each other through wives, girlfriends, marriages, divorce, the births of their children, and the deaths of parents. They are a part of each others daily lives, and members of each others families.

Jon stated that when it comes to the band he has learned to lead by example, listen, and be a good friend, know when to take a punch, and when to give one. He also knows when to share the spotlight, when to step back, and when to take it.

When it comes to giving back to people, the community, and his country, Jon reveals that he has "been blessed more than any man should be," and why he feels it is so important to give some back.

Jon Bon Jovi gives back daily, as he works hands on with two of his pet projects that are near, and dear to his heart, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, and the JBJ Soul Kitchen.

Jon, who just celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month reached out to fans asking to help make his birthday wish of reaching his goal of $5000 for the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation possible. Fans flocked to the Bon Jovi official website surpassing the $5000 goal over by six times that amount bringing in over $30,000 for the JBJ Soul Foundation.

As Jon reflected back, he said that in his twenties he worked to build a legacy, now at 50 he wants to leave a legacy and be able to ask himself, "Did I do something that made a difference?"

Fans can answer that question for Jon, definitely yes, you have touched millions of lives through your music, your kindness, and generosity. You have changed more lives than you will ever know through your charitable work that you have done, along with the great happiness you have brought to the world with your music, will be remembered for many, many years to come.

Here is to another great 30-years of happiness and success.

Happy Birthday Bon Jovi!!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Bon Jovi - 7 Reasons Why We Love The Jov Post by: Eddie Ruckus & Dave-O 2 March, 2010 - 8:33 AM

Cripes! Bon Jovi formed on this day in 1983. Unbelievable, right?
To celebrate the New Jersey rockers' birthday, we decided to take a moment to list the top seven that we will always love Jon Bon Jovi and the Jov.
1. That hair
Throughout their career, Bon Jovi has proudly flaunted some of the best/worst hair the world of rock has ever, ever seen, and yet somehow they've managed to survive it. From the lion mane of singer Jon Bon Jovi in the 1980s through to the recent rumours of his possible impending baldness, that hair has only enhanced rather than diminished the potency of the Jov.
2. That name
Very early on, JBJ had the good sense to change the spelling of his name. Like, seriously, would many of us have ever worn t-shirts saying “Bongiovi”?
3. Charity
In 2006, singer JBJ founded the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, a charity that tackles homelessness across the US.
4. Looking good
While guitarist Richie has made the odd slip-up, they are arguably the least f***ed up rock band of their generation. Just look at the other stars of the hair-band era – any member of, say, Motley Crue, Poison or the Gunners.
5. They care about the fans
Some bands are really precious about their time, not the Jov. We still love them for letting us bring our cameras backstage on their last tour to give the fans an insight into how they work.  backstage. Watch the video above.
6. Jon Bon Jovi can act
He’s had a sideline in movies and TV, but never let that affect his real art - the music.
7. Well, obviously, THE MUSIC!!!
You’ve got to hold on to what you’ve got…
Happy birthday, Bon Jovi. Thank you for the music!!!!
Your turn – why do you love Bon Jovi?

Bon Jovi Teams Up With NY Tech to Create Summer Jobs

Startup "rock stars" join actual rock star to attract young talent.
The prospect of a career in technology can seem daunting to those who didn’t grow up taking apart mainframes or hacking together computer programs.  A new White House initiative called SummerQAmp thinks it has an answer to ease the anxiety: quality assurance. If that felt a bit anticlimactic, allow me to explain.
Quality assurance (QA) is the task of thoroughly testing software before releasing it to the public. It requires no formal training, only a layman’s eye for catching bugs in web applications. By encouraging tech companies to create 1,000 QA summer internships, the program hopes to expose 18-24 year-olds to a promising career path before it’s too late. The initiative is led by former White House CTO Aneesh Chopra, GroupMe co-founder Steve Martocci, Gilt Groupe VP of Quality Engineering Steve Haggard, Onswipe CEO Jason Baptiste, and yes, rock star Jon Bon Jovi.
“There are hundreds of thousands of jobs in the apps economy alone,” said Chopra on a conference call this morning. “We think this program will help people to see tech as a path for everyone. It’s a great starting point for kids to feel connected.”
As part of the White House’s Summer Jobs+ initiative to create 250,000 summer internships for young adults in 2012, the SummerQAmp effort will include online courses that introduce programming concepts to participants. Although restricted to those aged 18-24, there are no income or educational requirements to apply to the jobs created through the program. In addition to the founding team’s companies, eBay and Boxee have also committed to hosting interns.
According to Martocci, SummerQAmp’s genesis came at a dinner with Bon Jovi earlier in the year. After Martocci broached the subject of  QA as a source of quality entry-level jobs, Bon Jovi, a member of the White House’s Council for Community Solutions, connected the GroupMe founder with Chopra. The program made an easy fit with the White House’s Summer Jobs+ initiative.
Having spent long hours doing QA for my old startup, I can attest to two things: 1.) It’s hard, detail-oriented work and 2.) It’s a fantastic way for non-technical employees to gain insight into the process of creating and managing software. For our company, the task consisted of walking through every possible user scenario in each major browser to make sure new features worked as planned. Any glitches, no matter how minor, were then meticulously documented so our development team could go in and make fixes.
Although I didn’t end up going any further into a technical career path, the QA process really helps to solidify the connection between what you see on a web page and what goes on in the back end.  Since the job requires absolutely no technical background, it’s a really useful entry point for attracting capable, non-technical young adults into the startup community. As Haggard noted during the conference call, lot of QA work is done offshore. If companies can transfer that work to cheap domestic interns instead, it seems like a no-brainer to me.
