Richie Sambora mixing final song on new album

If Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was worn to the bone by the band’s last tour, he sure isn’t showing it.  After a short rest following nearly 18 months on the road in a grueling tour, Mr. Bluesman has been back in the studio working on a solo record, his third.
Just today the tireless foil for Jon Bon Jovi tweeted that he is in the studio mixing tracks for the final song on the record.
Earlier this month  Rolling Stone magazine reported  Sambora’s first disc in 14 years will simply be titled, Richie Sambora.  It is due out this summer, and like the previous releases before it will work to establish the fun-loving guitarist as an entity apart from his side-kick identity with that other band with…what’s his name?

Bon Jovi.
Carnival roadie or workaholic, Sambora seemingly knows he can’t keep what he has unless he gives it away.  Thus, he has immersed himself once again into the creative process, rather than remain idle.  After all, idle time is indeed the Devil’s time.
An independent soul himself,  the new CD will be released on Dangerbird Records, an indie label that provides the brown-eyed guitarist space to stretch his wings and let his licks fly without having to worry about music for the sake of commercialism.
The guitarist told Rolling Stone that there is a lot of “jamming” on the new work, and “…we really had a good time making the music.  I think that’s what attracted me to the whole indie (label) thing: I could make the music the way I wanted”, he said.
Following the release there have been rumors about a possible solo tour; however, Sambora and musical soul-mate Jon Bon Jovi have been back in the studio already putting down tracks for a new Bon Jovi release, possibly slated for late 2012 to early 2013.
He told Rolling Stone of the effort, “We’re in the studio and it sounds great”, he said. “Jon (Bon Jovi) and I were writing.  I’d fly to New York and we came up with a lot of great tracks and we started laying down the basics a couple weeks back”.
For Richie Sambora fans, the news couldn’t be better: double-doses of the puppy-eyed rocker.  In the meantime, they’ll just have to settle for twitter updates from @theRealSambora and the photos he so freely shares with the fans he loves.
