Bon Jovi to rock annual Quebec City festival July 9
For Matt Bongiovi, keeper of JBJ Backstage and just about everything that is Bon Jovi when it comes to social networking, hell hath no fury like a rock band on hiatus that refuses to really enjoy downtime and take a load off.
Such is the case with his brother’s juggernaut of a nom de plume, Bon Jovi.
See, these guys are supposed to be kicking back and enjoying la vida buena; but what are they doing instead?
Running around like headless chickens working on solo projects here, a charity appearance there, a benefit show, a beachfront show, laying tracks for a new band record.
Talk about taking one for the team!
Matt’s never-ending nightmare is JoviNation’s round-the-clock obsession, and fans around the world are amped to hear that Bon Jovi (along with Aerosmith), will be headlining a full show at the Festival D’Ete De Quebec in Quebec City on July 9th.
Think Bamboozle on steroids, or the New Meadowlands shows to the tenth power; this band is gonna shake and quake and bring everything but the tsunami.
As reported on the band’s web site BonJovi.com, “Bon Jovi will be performing at Festival D’Ete’ Quebec on the plains of Abraham in Quebec City for a full headlining set of all the hits on July 9th, 2012”.
What exactly are Abraham’s Plains and does he know Bon Jovi will be touching down there and ripping them up?
Once an enormous patch of grazing land back in the early 1700’s, the plains became site of the famous Battle of the Plains of Abraham, which took place on the very spot Bon Jovi will be performing in September, 1759.
Still confused?
Think of the French trying to throw the British out in similar manner as to how America was born, and you come close to what eventually became known as the Seven Years War was.
Today over 200 years later, the battlefield has been turned into a park visited annually by 4 million people for a variety of outdoor activities.
In its 45th year, the festival runs from July 5-15 and will include performances by Aerosmith, Johnny Hallyday, Metric, The Offspring, and LMFAO among many more.
Bon Jovi’s appearance marks the first time the band will visit Quebec City since 2001, and fans and festival organizers alike are certain to be mesmerized by an over-powering show bursting at the seams with all of their biggest hits.
“A master stroke –Bon Jovi!”, festival organizers said in a release. “The U.S. Ambassadors of Rock N’ Roll come to Quebec City at last for their only show in Canada. Their appearances here are rare”.
Voulez vous coucher Bon Jovi is gonna kick ass and take names?
